As if there won¡¯t already be enough campaigning going on ¨C now the U.S. Travel Association wants you to ¡°Vote Travel¡± in 2012. But this is for a seriously good cause, says the organization¡¯s president and chief executive Roger Dow. ¡°The world is experiencing a travel boom and the United States needs to be part of it,¡± he said. ¡°The impact of the $1.8 trillion U.S. travel industry is significant and growing, which is why we are galvanizing support and asking all Americans to 'Vote Travel' this election season.¡± The U.S. Travel Association¡¯s recently announced ¡°Vote Travel¡± campaign is a year-long strategy aimed at helping raise the profile of the industry across the nation and amongst policymakers in Washington, DC. In addition to expanding on support for travel industry policy, the campaign will look to increase overall awareness of the impact the industry has on national, state and local economies as well as showcase ¡°the critical importance¡± of meetings and events during the Democratic and Republican conventions. To this end, the campaign will have a significant presence at political party conventions in Charlotte, SC and Tampa FL. Using the tagline ¡®Get America Moving. Vote Travel¡¯, the campaign will employ social media marketing strategies similar to what the current presidential campaigns are utilizing to target voters.? ??? ¡°By casting a vote for travel, our industry can increase jobs, help our economy recover and get America moving,¡± Mr Dow said.
