Royal Princess maiden season unveiled

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Debuting in June 2013, Princess Cruises' 3600-passenger Royal Princess is slated to sail on a maiden season of 12-day 'Grand Mediterranean' voyages between Barcelona and Venice.

The nine sailings will call into Toulon, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Mykonos, Istanbul and Kusadasi before an overnight stay in Venice.

An inaugural seven-day voyage setting sail on 16 June 2013 will also be on offer between Southampton and Barcelona, calling into Vigo, Lisbon, Gibraltar and Malaga with passengers able to combine this voyage with the 'Grand Mediterranean' to create a 19-day 'Grand Adventure'.

Those wishing to get a taste of Princess Cruises' latest flagship, have the option of two three-day advance preview cruises sailing roundtrip from Southampton on 10 June and 13 June 2013.

"It's fitting that our new ship will cruise on our most popular Europe itinerary, the Grand Mediterranean," Princess Cruises executive vice president Jan Swartz said.

"And the shorter preview cruises prior to the Meditteranean season certainly offer a unique opportunity to sample the new Royal Princess experience our passengers are eagerly awaiting."

She will head to the U.S. for the first time in October 2013 following an 18-day maiden 'Venetian Passage' cruise setting sail from Venice and calling into ports including Messina, Naples, Civitavecchia, Cannes, Barcelona and Funchal before arriving in Fort Lauderdale.

Royal Princess' maiden season cruises go on sale from 15 March 2012 with the preview cruises open for booking later in the year once the inaugural festivities are confirmed.
