The U.S. Travel Association’s upcoming Marketing Outlook Forum is set to educate travel companies and destinations on the expected changes in consumer mindset and behaviour.

Taking place October 26 - 28 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the annual strategic forecasting conference will look at the consequences stemming from the uncertain economic environment.

Delegates will receive up-to-date economic and industry forecasts, an examination of today’s frugal consumer, and newly-released market research from the Gallup World Poll, American Express and Ipsos Mendelsohn.

Session topics will also cover the latest on business and meetings travel to integrating online and offline marketing.

Speakers will include Adam Sacks, Managing Director of Oxford Economics; Jon Clifton, Deputy Director of the Gallup World Poll; Ryan Manville, Vice President of Business Insights for American Express; and Jerry Jones, Owner and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys, amongst others.
“This is an extraordinary time for the travel industry” said U.S. Travel Association senior vice president of research, Dr. Suzanne Cook.

“We’re experiencing what could be a long-term attitudinal shift in how consumers and businesses view the fundamental value of travel. Business as usual will not cut it; travel marketers must understand the changing mindset of the traveler and adjust accordingly.

“Travel providers who have their finger on the pulse of this new environment can capitalize on the opportunities that exist.”
