Mexico's next big destination: The Costa Maya
The Costa Maya, a 60-mile stretch of untouched paradise, along Mexico’s Caribbean coast, is now being developed into Mexico’s next big tourist destination. Following the Mexican Government’s plan for sustainable and eco-friendly development, real estate developers have begun to build residential projects and boutique eco-chic hotels in the Costa Maya. The Costa Maya will soon be much more accessible to international tourists with an airport currently under development in Tulum. Tourists can explore the numerous ruins in The Costa Maya, which was inhabited by Mayans in ancient times. Costa Maya’s cruise ship dock, located in the town of Mahahual, currently attracts more than one million visitors a year. Tourists will also enjoy Banco Chinchorro, which is just offshore from the Costa Maya and is home to some of the best-preserved scuba diving sites in the world. |
